what is crossfit?

Constantly Varied

By changing up the movements we train, equipment we use, weight we lift, and length of time we work, we aim to create a solid foundation of general physical preparedness for whatever physical demands life presents.

Functional Movements

We train movements that are natural (things we do in everyday life like squat, lift, carry, etc.), essential (movements that life demands for independent living), and compound (multi-joint) in order to enhance our performance and keep our bodies moving independently and freely throughout our lives.

High Intensity

Increasing the weight that we lift, the repetitions we do in a workout, and the speed at which we safely perform them can help increase our strength, stamina, endurance and produce results more quickly. Intensity is a relative term; we encourage and challenge athletes to work near their limits based on their physical and psychological capabilities. It’s not about comparing yourself to others in class, but comparing the intensity at which YOU work and YOUR results over time.

what to expect in a class

All of our CrossFit Classes

  • are coach-led and supervised

  • follow a planned progression

  • are 60 minutes in duration

  • include a group warm-up, movement demonstration/instruction/correction and a workout

  • include post-workout skill, stretching or community building when time allows
