CrossFit is an exercise and nutrition program. If you do not address nutrition, you are essentially rowing with one oar in the water, just going in a circle. Think yo-yo dieting, plateaus, having little or no results.
The hard truth is:
YOU CANNOT OUT-EXERCISE A BAD DIET.
To optimize health and fitness and to reap the full benefits of this program, measuring and recording nutrition intake is highly recommended. This doesn't mean obsessively tracking every single thing, but having a fairly clear sense of what and how much we are consuming can allow us to make leaps and bounds with not only our fitness goals but our overall health and well-being as well.
This approach to Nutrition is no different than how we encourage athletes to approach workouts. Think about tracking and logging workouts in Beyond The Whiteboard or a similar workout tracking app. If you do not do this, how do you know where to start or which adjustments to make if you are not reaching your goals?
